Does the Geko Electro-Stimulation Device meet criteria for eCQM VTE-1 prophylaxis

      Thank you for your inquiry about CMS108v12 Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis. Sequential compression devices, intermittent pneumatic compression devices, venous foot pumps, or compression stockings are acceptable forms of mechanical prophylaxis and will meet the Numerator criteria. To review exact value set contents for the "Pharmacological or Mechanical VTE Prophylaxis Received" data element, please reference the applicable codes on the Value Set Authority Center (VSAC) at https://vsac.nlm.nih.gov/.

    • We are writing to ask if the GEKO Electro-Stimulation device meets criteria for Hospital eCQM VTE prophylaxis. I am attaching a white paper regarding the device and asking if the device meets criteria for a foot pump.

      See attached white paper. We are trying to determine if the Geko electro-stimulation device will meet criteria for a foot pump and if it acceptable as mechanical prophylaxis to meet the VTE measure
