We have found patients that have procedures that fall into the SCIPS procedures value sets for VTE-1, and normally should be excluded. These same patients are receiving proper and timely prophylaxis for VTE and are showing up as compliant in our numerators. Is this acceptable? Is there a hierarchy in whether they should be included or excluded for the VTE-1 denominator?
