Thank you for your question about CMS334v5 Cesarean Birth.

The reporting data elements of estimated date of delivery, gravida, and parity may be mapped to discrete fields within nursing documentation within the EHR. We recommend you consult with your IT Department, EHR vendor and/or clinical partners to validate your data crosswalk as it relates to reporting. If mapping is conducted, you should maintain documentation in case of a CMS audit. We hope this helps.

    • Adherence to eCQM field requirements

When mapping to EMR fields for estimated date of delivery, gravida and parity, is it OK if these are RN documented fields. I don't see any indication in the eCQM specs that these fields must be documented by an independently licensed provider aka MD/DO/LIP, but want to be certain.
