While CMS 996 includes patients with Mechanical circulatory assist device placement as excluded from the measure, we are not seeing the code for the impeller pump in the list of exclusions under Mechanical circulatory device. Is this intentional by the measuring stakeholders? Please explain the reason it is not included.
