CMS0117v12

Patients are receiving VZV, Hep A, and MMR vaccines just a few days before turning 1 years old and are not counting in the measure.
The Childhood Immunization Status CMS117v12 (https://ecqi.healthit.gov/sites/default/files/ecqm/measures/CMS117v12.html) requires that patients receive their VZV, Hep A, and MMR vaccines on or between their first and second birthdays.
- At least one VZV vaccination, with a date of service on or between the child’s first and second birthdays.
- At least one hepatitis A vaccination, with a date of service on or between the child’s first and second birthdays.
- At least one MMR vaccination on or between the child’s first and second birthdays.
We have encountered patient examples where the patient was given the above vaccine 1-14 days before their first birthday. Should a period of up to 14 days prior to the patient's first birthday be included in future measure logic so that providers have slightly more flexibility to count patients who are coming in just as the patient is about to turn 1 years old?
