      Thank you for your inquiry into CMS108v12 VTE-1/ CMS 190v12 VTE-2 Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis and Intensive Care Unit Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis.

      Patient noncompliance is not refusal. Clinically, noncompliant could mean different things depending on the individual patient. It must be clearly documented that the patient actually refused the device / therapy for prophylaxis to meet the exclusion criteria.
