      The denominator exclusions are applied to both the measure calculation as well as Stratum 1. The performance rate is the numerator divided by the denominator, which is the denominator minus denominator exclusions. Then it is reported as a rate per 10,000 deliveries.

      In the given example, if the numerator is 6 and the denominator is 204, then your reportable rate would be 294 per 10,000 births.

    • Calculating the correct rates for the PC-07 measure

      Please give clarification regarding the verbiage in the specification for Rate Aggregation. It is stated that the measure is calculated by the numerator/denominator and is reported as a rate per 10,000 deliveries. For stratum 1, the verbiage then includes denominator exclusions in the equation. 

      1. Does this mean that you would only use denominator exclusions for stratum 1 of this measure and not the measure itself?
      2. If my numerator is 6 and my denominator is 204, would my reportable rate be 0.0294117 per 10,000 births or would I multiply that by 10,000 for a rate of 294.12 per 10,000 births?
