Need clarification on CMS157v10 number of measures to report

      This measure has two populations:

      Population 1 looks for visits from patients with a diagnosis of cancer who are currently receiving chemotherapy.

      Population 2 looks for visits from patients with a diagnosis of cancer who are currently receiving radiation therapy.

      Although the measure has two populations, the measure is designed to have a single (one) reporting rate. Population 1 is for medical oncologists, while population 2 is for radiation oncologists. If a medical oncologist reports this measure, Denominator 2 and Numerator 2 would be zero in the calculation. Similarly, if a radiation oncologist reports this measure Denominator 1 and Numerator 1 would be zero in the calculation. In either case the result is a single reporting rate.

      In the measure specification, it states:

      "This measure is intended to have one reporting rate, which aggregates the following populations into a single performance rate for reporting purposes: - Population 1: Visits for patients with a diagnosis of cancer who are currently receiving chemotherapy - Population 2: Visits for patients with a diagnosis of cancer who are currently receiving radiation therapy For the purposes of this measure, a single performance rate can be calculated as follows: Performance Rate = (Numerator 1 + Numerator 2)/ (Denominator 1 + Denominator 2)"

      I am interpreting this as there is only 1 measure and should report only 1 score.

      The confusion comes from the Cypress patient list for CMS157, where they have separated out Pop 1 and Pop 2. 

      Can you confirm that CMS157 should have 1 measure rate reported?
