Thank you for your inquiry specific to CMS951v2: Kidney Health Evaluation Measure. We appreciate the feedback included in your inquiry. We will consider changes to address this issue in a future eCQM Annual Update cycle.
      Update:
Thank you for your inquiry specific to CMS951v2: Kidney Health Evaluation. Neither the urine protein dipstick test nor the urine-protein creatinine test satisfy the measure's numerator criteria. Albuminuria is the preferred test in clinical practice guidelines for kidney disease screening and monitoring because epidemiologic data demonstrate a strong relationship between the quantity or urine albumin with both kidney and CVD risk and observed CVD even at very low levels. Assays to measure albumin are more precise and sensitive than assays to measure urine protein. We appreciate the feedback included in your inquiry and will consider changes to address this issue in a future eCQM Annual Update cycle.

    • Some of our rural labs in Texas do not provide testing for UACR.

Labs provide only urine protein, not UACR in some of the smaller Texas labs.
