Thank you for your inquiry about CMS130v12 Colorectal Cancer Screening. Please refer to the measure's clinical recommendation statement below for the timing requirement for the Numerator.

A stool DNA with FIT-DNA test during the measurement period or the two years prior to the measurement period would qualify for the Numerator criteria. If the "measurement period" is January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024, a patient can have this test completed looking back up until January 1, 2022.

A patient may have a flexible sigmoidoscopy during the measurement period or the four years prior to the measurement period. If the "measurement period" is January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024, a patient can have this procedure completed looking back up until January 1, 2020.

A patient may have a colonoscopy during the measurement period or the nine years prior to the measurement period. If the "measurement period" is January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024, a patient can have this procedure completed looking back up until January 1, 2015.

      CMS130v12 Header:

Please clarify the following year counts for the numerator:

Patients with one or more screenings for colorectal cancer. Appropriate screenings are defined by any one of the following criteria:

      - Stool DNA (sDNA) withFIT-DNAtest during the measurement period or the two years prior to the measurement period
**We are interpreting "2yrs prior" or "during measurement period" as technically 3yrs. Meaning in 2024, a patient record between MY2022-MY2024 are valid for submission? Year 1=MY2022, Year 2=MY2023, Year 3= MY2024?

Same wording question applies for the ones below:
      - Flexible sigmoidoscopy during the measurement period or the four years prior to the measurement period
**We are interpreting "4yrs prior" or "during measurement period" as technically 5yrs. Meaning in 2024, a patient record between MY2000-MY2024 are valid for submission?

      - Colonoscopy during the measurement period or the nine years prior to the measurement period
**We are interpreting "9yrs prior" or "during measurement period" as technically 10yrs. Meaning in 2024, a patient record between MY2016-MY2024 are valid for submission?
