Question regarding Depression Screening and Follow Up measure for traditional MIPS eCQM.

The 2024 specifications state that patients who have a history of depression will now be included in the denominator.  Our organization has questions related to patients with a history of depression who screen positive for depression.

Scenario 1:  Patient with a history of depression screens positive during the most recent screening.  The patient is already on a depression medication and the provider makes no adjustments to medication dose/frequency but does refill the medication at the time of the appointment.  Does this meet numerator criteria for follow-up plan?

Scenario 2:   Patient with a history of depression screens positive during the most recent screening. The patient is already on a depression medication and the provider makes no adjustments to medication dose/frequency. Provider does not order a refill of the depression medication because the patient has multiple refills remaining. The depression medication remains active on the patient’s medication list.  Does this meet numerator criteria for follow-up plan?
