The rational as to why CPT 99024 was / is not included in the value set is that services unrelated to the global procedure are not included in the global package and may be reported (and reimbursed) separately. Global visits, CPT 99024, are not included in the value set of CMS 2. Therefore, if a patient has a depression screening completed (and follow-up if positive) during the global period, it is not included in the numerator compliance. Can someone please provide the rationale for this?
