Thank you for your question regarding CMS129v12 Prostate Cancer: Avoidance of Overuse of Bone Scan for Staging Low Risk Prostate Cancer Patients. The measure uses codes that were active at the time that the measure was published. For the 2023 reporting period, please continue using the published measure specifications and guidance. While we cannot provide specific mapping guidance, it may be possible to map an inactive code to an active code to fulfill current measure requirements. If mapping is used, it is important to maintain proper documentation in case of a CMS audit. We hope this helps.

    • Procedure, performed: Tumor Staging SNOMEDCT issue prevents required mapping..

Activated, and attempting to map CMS 129 specifically for Procedure, performed: Tumor Staging Associated Attributes for Results T1a and T1b in Epic. Code in value set designated to use for T1a is SNOWMEDCT - Code 369833007 and SNOWMEDCT- Code 369834001 for T1b- Tumor Staging which seems to be inactivated. Please advise. Thanks, Debbie
