Thank you for your inquiry for CMS108v11: Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis. Sequential compression devices / intermittent pneumatic compression devices, venous foot pumps, or compression stockings are acceptable forms of mechanical prophylaxis and will meet the VTE measures. Other types of medical devices are not included in the value set at this time; however, the value set is reviewed annually and updated as new evidence becomes available.

    • We anticipate the Geko Electro-Stimulation Device may be used for inpatients and are wondering if the device meets criteria for VTE-1 prophylaxis?

We are trying to determine if the Geko Electro-Stimulation Device will be included as VTE prophylaxis?
