      Hello,

WinnMed (Winneshiek Medical Center) is a CAH that participates in the Promoting Interoperability Program. We are looking for some clarification on the Safe Use of Opioids (CMS 506) measure.

The initial population is described as Inpatient Hospitalizations. Are patients who are skilled care inpatients at our CAH considered for this measure?

We are being advised by our EMR host that skilled/SNF inpatients do not count for this measure. Is that correct? Are only acute inpatient hospitalizations considered for the initial population?

      Thank you
