    • Thank you for your questions regarding CMS506v5 Safe Use of Opioids - Concurrent Prescribing. If this opioid was not present at discharge, the patient should not be included in the measure population.
    • CMS0506v5

I have a patient who was planning to discharge, so the consulting provider sent a prescription for an opioid to the patient's pharmacy.  The patient ended up staying for another week, and the opioid does not show on the patient's discharge medication reconciliation.  However, this medication is showing on the report.  Should it be showing on the report as it was prescribed during the encounter in question?  I don't see where the provider canceled this prescription even though it is not included in the patients discharge medications.
