Thank you for your inquiry for CMS138, Preventive Care and Screening: Tobacco Use: Screening and Cessation Intervention. This answer is provided in the context of CMS138v10 (2022 performance period), since the logic you referenced is included in this version, and not in CMS138v11 (2023 performance period). "Overlaps after" requires that the first interval overlaps the second and ends after it. For example, if the measurement period is 1/1/2023-12/31/2023, the pharmacotherapy period should start during the measurement period and end after the measurement period (e.g., 10/10/2023-1/1/2024). For further reference, you may view the diagram included in the CQL specification demonstrating the relationship between two intervals characterized by this operation: https://cql.hl7.org/02-authorsguide.html#comparing-intervals.

Can you clarify the date range for "where TakingCessationPharmacotherapy.relevantPeriod overlaps after "Measurement Period":" as part of this section of psuedocode?

      Active Pharmacotherapy for Tobacco Cessation
["Medication, Active": "Tobacco Use Cessation Pharmacotherapy"]
      TakingCessationPharmacotherapy where TakingCessationPharmacotherapy.relevantPeriod overlaps after
      "Measurement Period"

Does this mean it must overlap the measurement period from 1/1, after 12/31 or something else? The "after" portion makes it a bit unclear.
