Depression screening performed at the Initial prenatal visit with code 0500F documented (due to global billing after delivery) is not qualifying as being performed at a "qualifying encounter".
For OB providers performing depression screening at the initial prenatal visit, due to the coding (global billing after delivery) the screen is not falling into being performed during measurement year at "qualifying encounter". Code 0500F is being used for the initial OB encounter. Does the screening at this visit qualify as being performed in current measurement year when a subsequent "qualifying CPT encounter" occurs which pulls patient into the denominator? Or, must code 99204 (Pr Antepartum Care Initial Visit) be utilized to capture this screening for the measurement period?
