VTE1 and VTE2 is looking for DVT prophylaxis to be applied the day of admission to inpatient or the day after.  Our EHR has developed a way to capture this through the chargemaster.  It is my understanding that when doing this through the chargemaster, there is only a date that is captured.  We have been instructed that when there is documentation on the day of admission to put the charge in on day after admission. I want to make sure that when the chart is validated by an auditor, that the auditor is not matching the date and time of when the mechanical VTE prophylaxis were documented on the patient in the medical record with the date/time that was submitted in the ecqm.
