Numerator incorrect as completed labs not considered
The most updated recommendation from the National Kidney Foundation and the American Society of Nephrology is to utilize equations without a race-based variable for Diagnosing Kidney Disease.
The task force recommends immediate implementation of these new equations in all United States laboratories. The American Association of Clinical Chemistry has published guidance on implementation National Kidney Foundation Laboratory Engagement Working Group Recommendations for Implementing the CKD-EPI 2021 Race-Free Equations for Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate: Practical Guidance for Clinical Laboratories.
