Thank you for your feedback regarding CMS117v11 (2023 performance period), Childhood Immunization Status. In CMS117v11 (2023 performance period), the only change that was made regarding the influenza vaccine requirement was the removal of adverse reaction which is a rare condition. This was because the codes and modeling were not sufficient to reach measure intent.

Including the annual influenza vaccine in the Childhood Immunization measure for HRSA/UDS, is pulling the metric percentages down for our FQHC, as well as many other FQHC's in Wisconsin, health systems (WCHQ, etc...), and Insurance Health Plans (HEDIS).

From Q4 2020 to Q2 2023, our measure for Childhood Immunization Status (Line 10), CMS117v11, which is reported to UDS for HRSA has dropped almost 40 points. In audit of patient records, 92% of the drop is due to not meeting the influenza vaccine requirement of "two influenza (flu) vaccines by their second birthday". In collaboration meetings with other FQHC's in the state of Wisconsin, as well as other health systems, and insurance plans, these other organizations are seeing the same phenomena of plummeting metrics due to not meeting the influenza requirement.
