      Thank you for your inquiry on CMS2v13: Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan. Depression can be a recurrent condition where patients who may have experienced depression in the past may be at a higher risk for future episodes. In such cases, rescreening patients with a history of depression is beneficial to identify and treat early signs of depression. For those patients that are currently experiencing depression, screening can be used to monitor the patient’s symptoms and response to treatment.
