Thank you for your question regarding CMS129v12 Prostate Cancer: Avoidance of Overuse of Bone Scan for Staging Low Risk Prostate Cancer Patients. The measure uses codes that were active at the time that the measure was published. For the 2023 reporting period, please continue using the published measure specifications and guidance. While we cannot provide specific mapping guidance, it may be possible to map an inactive code to an active code to fulfill current measure requirements. If mapping is used, it is important to maintain proper documentation in case of a CMS audit. We hope this helps.

    • Without proper mapping the measure is not able to be appropriately evaluated inclusion.

Mapping of CMS 129 for the 2023 reporting year,  specifically for Procedure, performed: Tumor staging (tumor staging) in Epic.  The following codes from the IMO load were used but are now marked as "deleted":
SNOMED#369834001 mapped to Result: T1b: Prostate tumor incidental historic finding in > 5% of tissue resected (finding)
SNOMED#369833007 mapped to Result: T1a: Prostate tumor incidental historic finding in 5% or less of tissue resecting (finding)

Can you please advise on alternate snomed code mappings to be used?
