      Thank you for your inquiry specific to CMS819v2 Hospital Harm – Opioid-Related Adverse Events. Cath labs are not considered an operating room (OR) in the measure. Administration of opioid antagonists in other procedural areas, such as a cath lab following a procedure where an opioid was administered, indicates a harm event.

      Does the cath lab count as an "OR" in this measure?  In my previous experience in working there we on occasion would have to administer Narcan after sedation.  So in theory if this is considered "in the OR"  that patient would be excluded.  I have already asked CMS this question and they referred me to you.
