      ​Thank you for your question about CMS50v11 Closing the Referral Loop: Receipt of Specialist Report. The referral time period is limited to the first 10 months of the measurement period, without exception. The relevant measure logic allows two ways to capture the referral: 1) either as an intervention performed or 2) as an intervention ordered.

      The timing associated within the intervention performed requires the referral end during the (relevantPeriod) or occur (relevantDatetime) during the interval timeframe of January 1 – October 31, 2023 for this year’s performance period. If, however, the referral is entered as an order, that would need to be documented in the patient record (authorDatetime) during the same interval timeframe of January 1 – October 31, 2023 in order to meet the denominator criteria.

      Hello,

       

      My EMR vendor and I are reading this measure differently. In the logic, it says First Referral during First 10 Months of Measurement Period...ends during interval.

       

      Does that mean the referral has to be entered January 1 - October 31, 2023 for this year's performance period? And it also ends by 12/31/2023?

       

      Or does it just mean that the referral has to END January 1 - October 31, 2023, even if the referral was entered last year?
