Patients who are receiving palliative or hospice care (including comfort measures, terminal care, and dying care) during the encounter. 3. Patients discharged to another inpatient care facility. 4. Patients who expire during the inpatient stay. Regarding patients discharged to another inpatient care facility, does a SNF (skilled nursing facility) count as an inpatient care facility?
