The IPP/DEN/DENEX for the overall and stratification calculations should be equal. We agree with the overall and stratum1 rates that you present in your question, that is the overall rate would be 10,000 and the stratum1 rate would be 5,000. Using the CQL Calculation Results reported in Bonnie may be misleading when the stratification is not met. For example, if the stratification is not met, the IPP and denominator CQL result may be stated as 0, however, the actual IPP and denominator definitions will show as passing with green highlighting.

We noticed by testing our engine with Cypress data that this measure is applying the stratification across the IPP, DEN and DENEX resulting in 100% performance rate for the strata rate since it is only including patients in the denominator who qualify for the strata.

It seems that the IPP, DEN, and DENEX should be the same for the overall rate and the strata rate and that the stratification should be applied at the numerator level.  Instead it is applying the stratification and basically filtering IPP,DEN and DENEX.  I am looking for some clarity on how this measure is supposed to be calculated.

Here is an excerpt from the stratification logic:
//This logic identifies a subset of the numerator population with severe obstetric complications excluding cases where transfusion was the only severe obstetric complication.
