      Thank you for your inquiry regarding CMS69v11: Preventive Care and Screening: Body Mass Index (BMI) Screening and Follow-Up Plan. Per the measure specifications, a normal BMI for patients ages 18 years and older is BMI >=18.5 and <25 kg/m2. The measure logic, as aligned with current clinical guidelines, defines the range for below normal BMI as < 18.5 kg/m2 and an above normal BMI as >=25 kg/m2. In the provided example, a patient with a BMI of 24.910 or 24.977 should fall within normal BMI parameters as it is less than 25 kg/m2.

    • Need further clarification on how patients should count that have BMI.result = 24.910 or 24.977 during the measurement period

      In the 2023 eSpecs, "Documented High BMI during Measurement Period" is when the BMI.result >= 25 'kg/m2', and "Has Normal BMI" when the BMI.result included in Interval[18.5 kg/m2 , 24.9 'kg/m2'].

      For example, should patients with BMI.result = 24.910 or 24.977 be counted as High BMI or Normal BMI during the Measurement Period when there does not exist "Documented High BMI during Measurement Period" OR "Documented Low BMI during Measurement Period"?

      Documented High BMI during Measurement Period
      ["Physical Exam, Performed": "Body mass index (BMI) [Ratio]"] BMI
        where Global."NormalizeInterval" ( BMI.relevantDatetime, BMI.relevantPeriod ) during "Measurement Period"
          and BMI.result >= 25 'kg/m2'

      Has Normal BMI
      exists ( "BMI during Measurement Period" BMI
          where BMI.result included in Interval[18.5 'kg/m2', 24.9 'kg/m2']
      )
        and not ( exists "Documented High BMI during Measurement Period"
            or exists "Documented Low BMI during Measurement Period"
        )
