Hello, I work for a hospital that has an In-Patient Rehab (IP rehab) . When patients are discharged to the IP rehab and are prescribed or continued on two or more opioids or an opioid and benzodiazepine concurrently, the patients hit the numerator. In the literature, the exclusions are Inpatient hospitalizations where patients have cancer that overlaps the encounter, are receiving palliative or hospice care (including comfort measures, terminal care, and dying care) during the hospitalization, are discharged to an acute care facility, have a hospice care referral or admission, or expire. The measure description and specifications do not mention the IP rehab. Do we need to map the in-patient rehab as an acute care so patients in these categories hit the denomination exclusion or is there another workflow for inpatient rehabilitation services? Thank you.
