We are finding that patients are being identified as having a Moderate Infection with LOS due to the ICD10 code for Newborn suspected to be affected by chorioamnionitis, P02.78.  Here is the following scenario we are discovering the issue with:

      1. providers will add this diagnosis to the patients problem list during the admission encounter
      2. results come back negative for chorioamnionitis.
      3. provider resolves the "problem" during the admission encounter since chorioamnionitis was not confirmed.
      4. patient is identified in the numerator for this measure since this code was used during the encounter.

Clinicians have concerns since they are stating the patient should only be counted for this if the chorioamnionitis was confirmed.  This code clearly states "suspected" and is not documentation of a confirmed case.

Clinicians feel this code should not be a part of the Value set for Moderate Infection with LOS since it is not confirmation of an infection but, rather suspicion of an infection.
