Almost all EP measure definitions require certain types of encounter with the reporting EP. These are specified as "Encounter, Performed" during the measurement period. When written in this way. all EHRs assume the encounter provider must be the EP. However, in this measure, the numerator definition uses the same terminology. To be consistent, we must also require the follow-up encounters to be with the EP. But the measure guidance suggests that the follow-up visits may be with any provider with prescribing authority and does not have to be the EP. This should be clarified. Also, if indeed these encounters do not have to be with the EP, do they really satisfy the need of the measure for follow-up care for the ADHD medications? These follow-up visits could easily have nothing to do with ADHD. It's not clear that this measure as specificied really matches the original measure intent.
