Neutrophil value set has incorrect elements

    • Thank you for your question. The value set was revised during the April 2014 measure annual update.

      The data element neutrophil count is added to exclude patients with an absolute neutrophil count (ANC) of < 500. ANC is only calculated in the blood. As such, all value set references to anything other than blood (e.g. CSF, body fluid, urine) should be removed. Also, references to counts of band forms or references to neutrophils/100 leukocytes are also incorrect. The only LOINC codes that I could find that mean ANC are 751-8 and 753-4.
