​Thank you for your inquiry regarding CMS2v11: Preventive Care and Screening: Screening for Depression and Follow-Up Plan. The measure is not prescriptive of provider workflow or who can administer or complete the depression screening (i.e., PHQ2 or PHQ9 ) tools. Per the measure specification, the provider must review and address the depression screening on the date of the encounter, and if positive, the eligible clinician would need to document a follow-up plan on the date of or up to two days after the date of the qualifying encounter.
