The HEDIS value sets include additional code systems because HEDIS is reported by health plans and allows the use of additional data sources (such as claims data). Therefore, codes that may be found in any eligible data source are included. The eCQM value set uses LOINC codes, since the data criteria for 'Mammography' follows the CMS Measures Management System Blueprint's requirement of using the LOINC code system for the clinical concept of 'Diagnostic Study'. Equivalent services can be mapped to the measure's value sets. If mapping is done, you should maintain documentation in case of a CMS audit. The eCQM value set no longer includes the HCPCS codes available in CMS125v9 (2021 Performance Period) because those codes became ineligible for use beginning in 2018 and ineligible for use during the measure’s timeframe.
