Potentially inaccurate calculation of the performance
In the JIRA ticket - https://oncprojectracking.healthit.gov/support/browse/CQM-5503 - your response for performance rate calculation is as follows -
Measure Observations associated with the Numerator (n=10) divided by the difference between Measure Observations associated with the Denominator (n=500) and Denominator Exclusions (n=50) equals 10/450, which equals a rate of 2.22%.
My question about the performance rate calculation is -
The measure observation associated with the denominator (n=500 in the example) is in days, but the denominator exclusions would be the encounter count, right? If that is correct, then it does not seem right to me to subtract 2 different measurement items - i.e. subtracting 50 encounters from 500 days. or perhaps I'm not thinking this right. Can you help me understand this?
I would think the logic for the "Measure Observations associated with the Denominator" is being calculated after the encounters that meet the exclusion logic have been removed. So I would think the denominator should only be "Measure Observations associated with the Denominator".
