Patient refusal is acceptable, but it needs to be documented within the same timeframe that VTE prophylaxis should have been received.

      The patient is in the hospital from 7/11 to 7/13 and left against medical advice. Will this be considered as an implied refusal and should be excluded? Please advise. Thanks.
