Thank you for your question. Please see the response below based on the feedback from the measure steward.

The denominator exception "PCI described as non-primary by a physician/advanced practice/physician assistant." does not have a matching logic in the AMI-8a eCQM. The PCI > 24 hrs and the fibrinolysis before PCI exclusions should identify most non-primary cases. The logic of "Procedure, Performed not done: Medical Reason" also supports this exception .

Please clarify the matching Boolean logic for the denominator Exception: "PCI described as non-primary by a physician/advanced practice/physician assistant." I am not seeing this logic conveyed specifically. Not sure if this is handled by the denominator logic which only evaluates PCI's performed within the first 24 hours after the start of the encounter as specified below.

      Thank you.

      Denominator:
Occurrence A of Procedure, Performed: Hospital Measures-PCI" <= 24 hour(s) starts after start of FIRST :
■OR: "Occurrence A of Encounter, Performed: Hospital Measures-Encounter Inpatient"
■OR: "Occurrence A of Encounter, Performed: Hospital Measures - Encounter ED" <= 1 day(s) starts before start of "Occurrence A of Encounter, Performed: Hospital Measures-Encounter Inpatient"
