Hello, and thank you for your question. Yes this is an intentional criteria set—in order to meet the Initial Population, both of these measures require a qualifying encounter from the “Clinical Oral Evaluation” (2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.125.12.1003) value set. Thus, to meet the initial population, the provider will need to report Current Dental Terminology (CDT) codes. CMS74v12 and CMS75v11 are specifically to be reported by Dentists only in PY2023. We hope this helps.

    • We are a medical software company for Acute/Ambulatory settings. We would like to confirm whether CMS74v12 and CMS75v11 are intended to be reported by Dentists only.

Specifications for CMS74v12 for the 2023 performance period now include "as determined by a dentist" in the measure description similar to CMS75v11. We are requesting confirmation from the measure developer that this is intentional and that CMS74v12 and CMS75v11 are specifically to be reported by Dentists only in 2023?
