    • Urgent care visits are inappropriately counting towards MIPS eCQMs.

Urgent care visits are generally charged using the CPT codes from the Office Visit value set. However, these visits then count towards the MIPS eCQMs. During urgent care visits, typical screenings (e.g., depression, tobacco use, colorectal cancer, etc.) are not performed. PCPs often perform urgent care visits and work in their primary care clinic. If reporting as a group, what is CMS's recommendation for an urgent care visit CPT code so that it does not count towards reporting to the MIPS eCQMs?
