Thank you for your inquiry about the Hepatitis B vaccination Numerator requirement for CMS117v11. The "Meets HepB Vaccination Requirement" intentionally references the "Three Hepatitis B Vaccinations" definition to ensure that the three Hep B vaccinations are at least one day apart. However, we understand that the current logic structure may be complex. We will review the logic during the upcoming annual update cycle.

    • CMS0117v11
    • The description for the measure does not match what it actually does

In the numerator description for Hep B vaccination:

      Hepatitis B
Children with any of the following on or before the child’s second birthday meet criteria:
      • At least three hepatitis B vaccinations, with different dates of service.
o One of the three vaccinations can be a newborn hepatitis B vaccination during the eight-day period that begins on the date of birth and ends seven days after the date of birth. For example, if the member’s date of birth is December 1, the newborn hepatitis B vaccination must be on or between December 1 and December 8.
      • Anaphylaxis due to the hepatitis B vaccine.
      • History of hepatitis B illness.

The italics appears to match to the statement ""Meets HepB Vaccination Requirement"" - but this statement doesn't actually do anything. In order for "Meets HepB Vaccination Requirement" to be true, "Three Hepatitis B Vaccinations" must be true as well.
