The medication value sets contain RxNorm codes that are Semantic Clinical Drugs (SCD), generic, and prescribable. We explicitly exclude brand name drugs from the value sets. In order to satisfy the measure, you would need to map your local brand name drugs to the appropriate generic codes.

    • EC EHR customer questioning why Livalo is in the value set for MIPSCQM reporting but not eCQM reporting of CMS347v5

      In reviewing the EC eCQM value sets for Statin therapy for CMS347v5, the generic medication Pitavastatin is in the Valueset "Moderate Intensity Statin Therapy" (2.16.840.1.113883.3.526.3.1575) with RxNorm 2001262 or 2001266 but the brand name Livalo with RxNorm 861646, 861650, or 861654 are not in the value set and we have several customers questioning why. Please advise.

       

      The documentation for MIPSCQM reporting of this same measure includes Livalo as an option and that is confusing to our users.  Here is the table of information from the MIPSCQM documentation.
