AMI Test Patients Do Not Align with Typical Workflow

    • Thank you for sharing this concern. This issue has been resolved in the specifications published in the April 2014 measure annual update.

      Patients with an ECG result representing a STEMI typically come through the ED and EHR systems typically capture these results in ED applications. However, the AMI test patients require ECG charting but do not include an ED encounter. Therefore, because there is no ED encounter and systems only capture this charting in the ED, the patient will not be excluded from the measure (measures 163 and 164). Will the test patients be revised to include an ED encounter to test the exclusion?
