Thank you for your question. Because 2021 is not a leap year, the leap year logic is not pertinent to the dates provided in your inquiry (IP Start Date - 2020-12-31 -IP End Date - 2021-05-01). However, the length of stay day calculation considers leap year (29 in February) in the calculation when applicable. Therefore, during a leap year, the difference in days expression will count February 29, (e.g., 2020-02-29) in the calculation.

      Hi,

We were testing a scenario for the below criteria in CMS 9 measure for data in 2021 reporting year.

Single Live Term Newborn Encounter With Length of Stay More Than 120 days

      • PCNewborn."Single Live Term Newborn Encounter During Measurement Period" QualifyingEncounter
        where Global."LengthInDays" ( QualifyingEncounter.relevantPeriod ) > 120

Below are the dates we have provided for the Encounter Visit having 121 days.

      IP Start Date - 2020-12-31

      IP End Date - 2021-05-01

We would like to know how the leap years are being considered in eCQM evaluation, particularly in the DifferenceBetween operator.

      Thanks,

      Auryl
