However, the length of stay day calculation considers leap year (29 in February) in the calculation when applicable. Therefore, during a leap year, the difference in days expression will count February 29, (e.g., 2020-02-29) in the calculation.

We were testing a scenario for the below criteria in CMS 9 measure for data in 2021 reporting year.

Single Live Term Newborn Encounter With Length of Stay More Than 120 days

PCNewborn."Single Live Term Newborn Encounter During Measurement Period" QualifyingEncounter
where Global."LengthInDays" ( QualifyingEncounter.relevantPeriod ) > 120

Below are the dates we have provided for the Encounter Visit having 121 days.

IP Start Date - 2020-12-31

IP End Date - 2021-05-01

We would like to know how the leap years are being considered in eCQM evaluation, particularly in the DifferenceBetween operator.
