Thank you for your question. Per the HumanReadable specifications for STK-4: The "Non-elective Inpatient Encounter" value set intends to capture all non-scheduled hospitalizations. This value set is a subset of the "Inpatient encounter" value set, excluding concepts that specifically refer to elective hospital admissions. Non-elective admissions include emergency, urgent and unplanned admissions.

The valueset "Non-Elective Inpatient Encounter" (2.16.840.1.113883.3.117.1.7.1.424) contains two codes (see below). Trauma admission is encompassed by the first code:

183452005 Emergency hospital admission (procedure) SNOMEDCT

           32485007 Hospital admission (procedure) SNOMEDCT

The valueset Purpose statements (see below) are also helpful for your question. There are no exclusions.

Purpose: Clinical Focus The purpose of this value set is to represent concepts of encounters for non-elective inpatient admission.

Purpose: Data Element Scope This value set may use a model element related to Encounter.

Purpose: Inclusion Criteria Includes concepts that represent an encounter for a non-elective inpatient admission.

      Purpose: Exclusion Criteria No exclusions.

Trying to determine whether trauma admission classification is included under non-elective inpatient encounter' for the e-Stroke measures (2, 3, 5 & 6) and how to confirm this when viewing via the VSAC resources. We want to make certain we are not inadvertently including/excluding any patient classes that should not be included/excluded. Many thanks!
