There are a number of CQMs using value sets for 'hospice', 'palliative care', 'limited life expectancy'. Also, the required states may vary from one to another, for example, CMS69 uses 'Procedure, order: Palliative care' but CMS61 requires data element 'Procedure, performed: Palliative care'. The underlying reason of capturing these data elements may not be that different. The variation in the value sets including the states makes it challenging for implementing/verifying data capture. We suggest consolidation on these value sets.
