For most EP CQMs, encounter information is part of the criteria for IPP. Usually, the value sets for encounters include SNOMED codes in addition to CPT. This provides a good alternative to systems without CPT billing capability to capture the encounter information. However, there are three EP CQMs that don’t have SNOMED in value sets for encounters—CMS159v1, CMS160v1, CMS166v2. We suggest these measures include value sets with SNOMED such as Ambulatory/ED Visit Grouping Value Set (OID 2.16.840.1.113883.3.464.1003.101.12.1061).
No SNOMED codes for Encounter Valuse Sets for CMS159v1, CMS160v1, and CMS166v2
