      Hello,

Can you please review CMS347 Denominator 2 logic and update future value sets for Diagnosis: Hypercholesterolemia. The CMS347v4 value sets allows term Pure Hyperlipidemia to be synonymous with Familial Hypercholesterolemia. The issue is that the term "Pure Hyperlipidemia" has an ambiguous interpretation in the real world. In the real world most interpret Pure hypercholesterolemia as LDL elevation without significant triglyceride elevation. The issue becomes that providers will apply a diagnosis of Pure hypercholesterolemia when they are not intending a familial (genetic) disorder, which will fall out of the measure (not meet numerator) for many patients age 18-40.
