Quality ID #336: Maternity Care: Postpartum Follow-up and Care Coordination
-
Clinical confusion
Specific example: MIPS Quality ID #336 (https://qpp.cms.gov/docs/QPP_quality_measure_specifications/CQM-Measures/2020_Measure_336_MIPSCQM.pdf ) states
“DENOMINATOR: All patients, regardless of age, who gave birth during a 12-month period seen for postpartum care visit before or at 8 weeks of giving birth”
Whereas the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' recommendation is: “. . . with a comprehensive postpartum visit no later than 12 weeks after birth.” As stated in the attachment[^ACOG_Committee_Opinion_No__736__Optimizing.42.pdf]
I don't see explicitly who the measure steward is for this measure.
I tried the QPP Help Desk via CS 1053820, but their response didn't make any sense. I tried opening a Jira ticket (4616), but they told me they weren't responsible for this.
Hence, I'm opening this CQL ticket. This is frustrating to clinicians as it causes confusion.
