This piece of logic represents “if the patients do NOT have LDL-c measured within the first 48 hours of hospital admission AND do NOT have LDL-c measured within 30 days prior to hospital admission” then they meet the criteria. Patients who meet this criteria, together with meeting the “AND: "Initial Patient Population; AND: "Diagnosis, Active: Ischemic Stroke (ordinality: 'Principal Diagnosis')" starts during "Occurrence A of Encounter, Performed: Inpatient Encounter" criteria will put the patient in the denominator population.

Measure CMS105v1 NQF0439 Discharged on Statin Medication contains the following clauses as part of the Denominator criteria?:
AND NOT: "Occurrence A of Encounter, Performed: Inpatient Encounter (admission datetime)" <= 30 day(s) starts after end of "Laboratory Test, Result: LDL-c (result)"
AND NOT: "Laboratory Test, Result: LDL-c (result)" <= 48 hour(s) starts after start of "Occurrence A of Encounter, Performed: Inpatient Encounter (admission datetime)"

Questions: What are these clauses intended to represent? What data in the EHR would make these clauses be True? Would these clauses, if True, be enough to put the patient in the Denominator? What data in the EHR would make these clauses be False? Is this the logic that represents "LDL not measured?"
