CMS 65v7: Does the age include 85 years old for the IPP? eSpec is unclear and contradictory. Related to case CQM-1030 and need to know if the answer is still valid for 2018.

    • Please respond and let us know if the patients for the IPP are 18 up to 85 (84) or up to and including 85.

Yes the patient can be 85 at the start of the measurement period but cannot turn age 86 during the measurement period.

    • We simply need to know for configuration purposes and do not want to be counting patients appropriately.

Since there is a discrepancy in the eSpec regarding age range for Patient Population (Measure description states: Percentage of patients aged 18-85 years of age; Population criteria states >= 18 and < 85.) Less than 85 indicates the patient is 84. I found this same question on here, but it is from 2014, is the answer given here; the patient can be 85 at the start of the MP still valid for 2018? (https://oncprojectracking.healthit.gov/support/browse/CQM-1030)
